Thank you to all the alumni and friends who came back to campus to celebrate Homecoming 2010. Couldn't make it this year? Mark your calendar for Homecoming 2011 (Oct. 21-23).
Reminder: The nomination deadline for the College of Education and Professional Studies Alumni Awards is Dec. 1.
Don't forget to purchase your Dec. 11 Alumni Night at Lantz Arena tickets.
Volunteering at commencement is a rewarding opportunity to give back to your alma mater. If you'd like to help during the fall ceremonies on Dec. 18, please email alumeiu@eiu.edu or call 217-581-6892.
The Legacy Scholarship is awarded each fall to an EIU freshman who is the child and/or grandchild of an EIU graduate. The EIU Alumni Association is now accepting applications. The application deadline is Feb. 4.

This month's question:
This month we are celebrating the debut of 1989 graduate Beverly Nickelson's (pen name Nicki Elson) first novel, Three Daves.

Many of the settings discussed in the book were inspired by actual EIU buildings and Charleston bars. Can you correctly identify the "real" names of these three fictional bars:

• Mike's
• The Ritz
• The Downtowner

Hint: Check out the Three Daves website for clues.
